CP1623 PCI express X8?

Osld13 Experienced Member Joined: 3/20/2012 Last visit: 3/11/2025 Posts: 120 Rating: (1)	Hi, I have to install CP1623 on a new server. I only find servers equipped with PCI Express X2, X4 or X8 ports. The CP1623 is only defined for PCI express X1 port. What is the solution? Thanks by advance.

Look atthis page, chapter about features: Flexible use because slots are upwards-compatible, that is, no matter what slot is available (e.g. x4, x8, etc.), the CP will fit. Also, page 9 ofthis manualspecifies the same: Hardware requirements The CP 1623 requires a PCIe slot (PCI express x1; can also be operated in x4, x8 or x16 slots). BR, olloy

Still waiting from Siemens if it is some issues with PCIe3 version.
