kutya Posts: 7 Rating: (1)	Greetings I'm a relative rookie to PLC's and I have the next problem: I have a water pump control system and on some conditions I have to send an SMS to a cell phone. So I've combined a S7-300 with CPU312 for control and a Siemens TC65T terminal for sending an SMS through a CP340. I found a document for such a thing, except for a MD720 modem. But I need a solution in a much smaller scope and with FBD. I didn't use STL yet, so I'm uncomfortable with it yet, and the example code is in STL. What I need is how can I send a "test" message to a number "111". I can figure out the other details I guess. I figured out that I need to send at least the next two commands to the modem through CP340: at+cmgs=111 <text> + ctrl-z I made a project with this but it doesn't work. The prog runs ok and something is sent through the CP, but I don't receive an SMS. I hope someone can help me with this. EDIT: I forgot to add that when I use the modem with the PC through RS232, I can send the SMS ok through HyperTerminal.

My problem was that I hadn't changed the service centre number in the DB. In it was the standard German service centre number which was obviously no use for me . But maybe your problem is to be found somewhere else. Just wanted to share.

Making some extra code to change a phonenumber and write a different message. This is the example I used: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=25000624&caller=view Maybe its a different set up with the CP340, I'm not sure.

I guess the example won't work with the CP340 since it has its own FB for sending data (P_SEND) but I hope I'll see how is the sending executed. kutya Posts: 7 Rating: (1)	I've managed to solve my problem, so I thought it could help someone with a similar problem: I'm sending 3 strings to the modem: 1. set up the CP340 communication properly (ASCII, baudrate etc.) 2. sending '$R$Lat+cmgf=1$R' so set the SMS to text mode 3. waiting 1 sec to transmit the string 4. sending '$R$Lat+cmgs=11111$R' where the 11111 is the telephone number 5. waiting about 2 secs to transmit the string at to get the prompt 6. sending the message "some message text$1A" the $1A is the ASCII code for ctrl-z (26) All I'm using is the P_SEND function which comes with the CP340. The example I mentioned helped me to find a solution, but the implementation was too complex for my needs. BTW I needed most time to understand how to put ctrl-z ina string. I found nowhere where the $xx coding is described. I guessed and after a 500th try, I guessed ok.
