Dear Solutio Riders, When you have used CP340 and Modbus, someone has written the driver. Sorry, R J; The information you have provided only applies to a CP 341 (or a CP 441-2 in a S7-400 system). It cannot be used on a CP 340. No Siemens "Loadable drivers" can besetup in the CP 340. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1918186 If you want to use a CP 340 with Modbus, you must provide the functions that willimplement the driver. There is indeed a free ASCII protocol available for the CP340. You need to download the PtP parameterisation software to use it. However, any protocol requirements (e.g. mobus) would have to be realised with a driver developed in AS block(s) that you code yourself. I have developed a modbus driver that works with the CP340 (and also 341 and 441 and PtP CPU's), so it can be done. Although mine took about a year to develop (but it does act as master or slave and also works over TCP). I suppose a slave driver that works only with the CP340 could be developed by a capable programmer in I would estimate 3-4 months. |
