Hello Gowda; So, you need to make the CP 340 as a Modbus RTU master (if the DCS acts as a slave) or slave (if the DCS acts as a master). Do you understand this clearly? Whatever functions you are using, if you are not specifically using the Modbus RTU protocol on the CP 340, the exchanges will always be refused by the DCS. And I do not suggest you implement the Modbus RTU protocol by yourself (including the CRC calculations). It can be done, but it requires a very good understanding of the protocol, thePLC and much programming savvy. Oour friend smiffy once stated that it took him up to 18 months to have a working and debugged Modbus code on a PLC. CP 340 communication with RS-485 modbus |
