Hello All, 1)I am doing a small project where in data need to be send to DCS. So my CP341 will be slave and DCS will be Master. The sending data will be in DB 60 but what will be the Modbus address for reading data? Will it be 30001 or 40001 if it is analog value? 2)Does Dongle is compulsary for Slave also? 3) can you please explain me in detail how Modbus address calculation is done..i have gone through manual but i cant understand it... Hello, 1) There is no fixed allocation in Modbus that index 30000 or 40000 are analog values. Modbus works with Holding regsiters (16 bit values), Input registers (16 bit), Inputs (1 bit), Coils (1 bit), ... You have to look in the documentation od the DCS to know what index are used for specific data. 2) you need always a license (dongle) 3) this document gives you an idea how modbus works http://www.modbus.org/docs/Modbus_over_serial_line_V1.pdf |
