Solution Riders Posts: 112 Rating: (0)	Dear Experts. Here I am used cp341 modbus slave and one of digital input and output module(24v dc).I want to sent digital i/o signal status tothird party DCS. I gave cp341 slave address to dcs vendor.I wantto know how can i create the modbus address for digital i/o signal.?..Bcoz they asked starting modbus register address. Can any one help me?. Kindly give us solution.. Thanks in advance..

Kaulquappe Posts: 3093 Rating: (324)	Hello Solution Riders, digital in/outputs in "Modbus jargon" are coils. Coils are transferred with function code1 and 15. But you are talking about a Modbus register address. Registers are transferred with the function codes 3 and 16 (holding registers) and 4 (input registers) respectively. What do you or the 3rd party device really want to do? And a slave never sends data to the master but it answers a read request of the master. When you mix up such expressions, you will become confused. Regards, Kaulquappe
