Hello Siemens helpers, I get some contradictory information about the CP343-1 advanced communication card. I spoke to my supplier who tells a different story then siemens. Called two times to siemens and both got a different story so i don't know what to believe anymore. My setup: S7315 with the CP343-1 advanced Process network on subnet 192.168.x.x Modbus TCP/IP on subnet 10.100.x.x with serveral Telemetry stations from T-box On the process network we have a computer with step-7 to program the S7-315 and twinsoft to program the Tbox cpu's. We also got a softing opc server running for a intouch application. My plan was to connect the process network on the Gbit X1 port of the CP-343. And connect the Modbus network on the PN X2 port both in there designated subnet. The CPU can now communicate with both networks and get data from it... Now the problem, where i get contradictory stories. When i am in my process network, i fire up my computer when i open Twinsoft i want to communicate with the Tbox to program them in the modbus network through the CP343 card. So that seems to be a routing story, In the sales documentation: When using the CP 343-1 Advanced communications processors and CP 443-1 Advanced S7 controllers this requirement presents no problem. With the introduction of interfaces for separate IP subnetworks in Gigabit Ethernet and Fast Ethernet on one module, the cross-network use of IT services is possible by means of static IP routing. The access protection to the controller and the cross-network data traffic in this case is regulated by a configurable IP Access List. But when i got the mail siemens told me it is not possible to use the CP card as a router because routing cost to much resources and it is important that it has a reliable communication with the industrial network. If we wanne use a router we can use a Scalance S..... See attachement for a quick and dirty draw up of the network. So guys is this impossible with a cp-card?? * i now of s7 routing and that is possible but not for me becouse the devices i wanne reach are not S7 siemens cpu's https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/584459/which-modules-support-the-s7-routing-function-in-s7-subnets?dl=en&lc=nl-nl AttachmentCP343.pdf (92 Downloads) |
