Late Platinum Expert Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 3/9/2025 Posts: 2705 Rating: (321)	Hi Anguraj, Lean and mean is what mentioned here, it is the cheapest CP with a lot of capabilitys, but less then for instance the CP 343-1EX30. You have to check very carefull where you place this CP 343-1CX10, see the information on the customer support: What differences exist in the 300-series Ethernet CPs? Also a very good FAQ is the next one: What are the differences between the Ethernet communication services? So the Lean CP is a Server and a S7-300 is also a Server, the not Lean CP's are also Client !!

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, well the main differences are the communication capabilities. The Lean CP is only able to be used with TCP, ISO on TCP or UDP with up to 8 Connections. S7 Communication is only possible as Server. The usual CP is able to handle up to 16 ISO, TCP, ISO on TCP or UDP Connections. Additionally S7 Connections are possible... actively up to 16. Also HMI Connections are possible.... up to 16 too. As you see the standard CP is able to handle much more Connections than the Lean CP. I hope this information satisfies your need.
