seceem Experienced Member Joined: 5/7/2008 Last visit: 1/3/2025 Posts: 30 Rating: (1)	Hi, I am trying to comunation data transfer between two S7-300s, using ethernet connection ,tcp connection . I dont know what Im doing wrong. Could somebody help me how to estabilish communication as simple as is possible? My hardware: CPU 315C-2 DP (315-2AG10-0AB0) on both PLCs CP 343-1 Lean (343-1CX10-0XE0) model the same but different firmware version: V1.0 on PLC1 and V2.6on PLC2 By this time I have connected both PLCs with cross-connection cable,then configured in NetPro the ISOonTCP connection and I also used FC5 and FC6 function blocks. I put FC5 on OB1 in first PLC and FC6 in second one and nothing. The sending function was giving back alternatingly the status word of 8183 and 8180. where is the problem my project send you looking Thanks. Attachment Haberl_1.zip (316 Downloads)

I have not looked at your PLC Program , but the Error Code could indicate that you a.) you have not downloaded the NetPro configuration to the PLC b.) you have not propperly defined your block parameters for your connection. c.) you have no connection between the two CP Cards. The diffrent version should not be a problem , but you can upgrade the Firmware on the CP.

neo Posts: 264 Rating: (59)	Hello seceem, legacy support is rigtht - that´s a very good document! But i think that could help you too: Try tosave / generate Netpro and load it into the PLC´s. An Errorcode 8183 indicates that! best regards..

Then you should create two S 7 connection then you avoid the problem with the send function is blocking for receiving data. You can reuse the most of the program just replace the AG function, and create a UDT to use for send recive pointers, and create one more S7 connection.

The problem is that if you have two CP Lean, I am afraid that this will not work. Because of this: The CP-Lean can only be Server for data exchange on S7 connections configured at one end only without communication blocks on the S7-300 / C7-300 station. I recommend to use SEND/RECEIVE interface over ISO-on-TCP. The advantage of ISO-on-TCP compared to native TCP, is that ISO transports messages with a flag allowing to detect the end of excahnge.This simplifies the S7-program when data is exchanged with variable lengths.

To prove this please send us a Screenshot of the special diagnostics of your used Connection from the Special diagnostics of the CP 343-1 Lean, at best from both CP's.
