Late Platinum Expert Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 11/17/2023 Posts: 2705 Rating: (318)	Hi NF, You have to switch on the checkmark "Data length > 240 bytes"in the "Options" tab of the Hardware projecting of the CP343. If you using the newest communication blocks then is it directly possible to communicate with blocks bigger then 240 bytes. [;)]

You said that it is not possible to send Data larger than 240 Byte, so the Request to send more should set certain Status information’s. On the other hand, which version of the CP 343-1 do you use? Also which Protocol is used for the communication. I hope it is Industrial Ethernet. [;)] Best regards J_Bell

Dec Gold Expert Joined: 5/19/2006 Last visit: 10/23/2024 Posts: 549 Rating: (107)	I remember few years ago I had to write a PLC S7-300program to communicate over TCP-IP with a 3rd party PLC/VMS and I have to use AG-LSEND because the PDU was > 240 bytes. The only problem was that first telegram was 210 bytes and second was the rest of the message (~ 800 bytes). I was arguing with Siemens about this annoying segmentation and the response was that read/write records was limited to 240 bytes and it is done over P-BUS and for PDUs > 240 bytes the PLC open an S7connection (K-BUS) with the CP and transfer the remaining bytes. This was implemented in AG-LSEND and is the only difference to AG_SEND. I am not sure if anything was changed since then and if using AG-SEND now you can transfer PDU > 240 bytes. Dec
