Dear All,

I am ordering CP441-2

6ES7441-2AA03-0AE0

Do i need any dongle key for this. Do i need to order it. Please help me.

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 1/24/2025 Posts: 12330 Rating: (2702)	Hello PLC Engineer; You do not need a dongle key on a CP441-2, unless you need to authorize the use of "loadable drivers" for Modbus (master, slave), A-B's DF1.... For standards serial protocols, ASCII, 3964R, RK512, all you need is the configuration interface that comes with the CP and a standard communications block library(and a little bit of work) . Hunky Posts: 82 Rating: (6)	Dear mate, Thanks for your reply. The purpose of this CP is to get data from RADAR Levle devices on RS 485. And i am using this for first time. So i need anything else to order apart from the above CP (like authorization or Dongle.) Regards PLC Engineer

Hello PLC Engineer;

The CP441-2 comes with 2 slots for interface modules. But not with these modules, you must procure them separately.
Here is the part number and description of the RS-422/485 interface:

6ES7963-3AA00-0AA0

SIMATIC S7-400, IF963-X27 INTERFACE MODULE W. RS422/RS485 INTERF. FOR PTP CONNECTION TO CP441

Note than you can buy only one, if you do not wish to use the second slot (for a separate bus); and you do not have to use the same interface module in both slots (RS-232 in slot 1, RS-485 in slot 2 is no problem, for example).

The configuration software for the standard drivers included in the CP-441-2 package comes with the CP.
