Hello Sam; The CP 441-2 aloows you to connect to 2 different networks, and they can be indifferentlyRS-232, TTY or RS-422/485 (also known as X27). By selecting the appropriate IM 963 module you decide which network type will be used by each one of the CP 442-1 interfaces. The module you are selecting (6ES7963-3AA10-0AA0) will allow one connction of the CP 441-2 to a RS-422 or RS-485 network. You must purchase at least one IM 963 per CP 441-2 to connect to one network; purchasing a second IM 963-2 will allow 2 connections,and they may be for different network types. Helo Sam; You need only one licence per CP in your project. See this note in the following FAQ: MODBUS Software licence for CP 341 / CP 441-2 For a CP 441-2 with two interfaces only one licence is required, and each interface can work with any protocol. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
