CP443-1 and AG_LSEND

InertiaM Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Hello - I'm new, so please dont hurt me I recently installed a CP 443-1 card in our S7-400. It works fine, because I can do remote programming and live diagnosis from my laptop to it. It is 6GK7 443-1EX11-0XE0 / V 2.6 I am now trying to write some proper UDP communication using the AG_LSEND function. However, the AG_LSEND doesnt seem to do anything ie doesnt even give an error. Here's what I did :- 1. In NetPro, I set up a new UDP connection to Partner "My Laptop". It gives a Local ID of 0002 A050, an ID of 2 and an LADDR of W#16#3FE8. 2. I then downloaded the connection into the PLC (or at least I hope I did - how can I check this?) 3. I've written all the necessary parts in the program (having read the manual !), and used the connection data from above. 4. When I try and run the AG_LSEND command by activating the ACT input, I get no change in any of the outputs - DONE = 0, ERROR = 0, STATUS = 16#0000. Oh, and EN and EN0 are 1 so it is definitelyprocessing the block. Perhaps someone could let me know what screenshots you would like to see of what I have done, before I post too many! J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, don't worry, nobody is getting hurt anyway. Your questions are well explained so I try to answer them as good as I can. You can diagnose the State of the Connection in the Special Diagnostics of the CP 443-1. The Firmware you use is the latest one and therefore OK. To get to the Special diagnostics you can choose from several ways, the easiest in my opinion is to do the following. 1. Go to the STEP 7 Manager 2. Select the CP 443-1 3. Right click with the mouse on the CP and select "Object Properties ..." ( you can also doe Alt + Return ) 4. Acknowledge the following message. 5. Select the "Diagnostics" Folder. 6.Push the"Run" Button. I would additionally check the Version of the used FC. It has to be the FC of the Family S7-400. Than you know a bit more about what’s going on. Best regards J_Bell

Let me explain, the information about the running Firmware is not the Information you show in the Screenshot, this only shows the Version that is configured, but these versions can vary. To see which Version is in the Rack select the top entry in the Special Diagnostics called Modules, there you see the Version in details. The main problem I see is that you did not download the Connection configuration from Netpro. A download from HW Config does not contain the Network configuration. Please download the Configuration from The NetPro Tool once again to the PLC. Best regards J_Bell

STEP 7 should have shown you a warning saying that you configure the wrong version of the CP, didn't it? To upgrade the CP to the latest version, please use this FAQ: CP 443 -1 Firmware Update V2.6 and Unrestricted Use in any Hardware Release (6GK7443-1EX10-0XE0 and 6GK7443-1EX11-0XE0) The "how to" is explained in the FAQ. I would really recommend the update of the CP to this version. Best regards J_Bell

No it didnt Anyway, firmware now all upgraded - although the "powering down S7 and up again" may be a little difficult. However, even before power off it is now showing Module Version V 2.6.7

InertiaM Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	It's looking good I now have :- messagessuch as "System connection between module and CPU was established" Send/Recv communication is now showing Run (instead of Stop) a UDP connection shown in the Connections tab It seems it is now "working" - I will now go back to my blocks and see if it sends. If I get any more problems, I'll come back! Many thanks for all your help - it is greatly appreciated
