CP5512 again

pimpim32 Posts: 48 Rating: (0)	Hi everybody. I have used up till now succesfully my CP5512 card for S7-300 connection also for profibus. When I had to connect to a S7-200 no luck. I used a PC/PPI cable. But I see everybody is saying that on MicroWin , set PG/PC interface we should see CP5512(PPI) and connect with a S7-200. However I am seeing only CP5512(Auto), CP5512(FWL), CP5512(MPI and CP5512(Profibus) What should I do to see the CP5512(PPI) ?? Regards Marian

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, @chinna, I do not know where you have this information from, but I have CP 5512 with PPI, and I work with MicroWin V 4, no problem. @pimpim32, what do you have installed? Which version of S7 MicroWin do you use? If you have installed any other SIMATIC packages, which ones are these? Usually you should see a whole bunch of CP 5512 Interfaces in the PG/PC Interface Settings. Including MPI, PROFIBUS, FWL and PPI. So what do you see in the PG/PC Interface Settings anyway? pimpim32 Posts: 48 Rating: (0)	Hi, I remembered also when I installed Step7, he installed also drivers for comm cards. What I did now -Uninstall Step7 V5.4 -Uninstall MicroWin V3.2 -Install MicroWin V4.0 ( noted also drivers they were installed by MicroWin) -Install Step7 again (I do not know if uninstall/install Step7 helped, just to make sure) So now I am able to see CP5512(PPI) on PG/PC interface on MicroWin and already tested on a 216, works beautifully. However CP5512(FWL) had disappeared... :) now I do not care, but who knows... And by the way what FWL stands for? Regards and thanks again everybody for hints. Marian

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Marian, well this can be answered easily, FWL stand for FirmWare Loader. You need this type if you want to load a Firmware to a PROFIBUS CP, only to a PROFIBUS CP not to a CPU! This behaviour is still strange to me… I do not know but I expect a Problem with your Windows Installation. Best regards J_Bell
