StephenV Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello all, So, I have a problem... After a massive computer crash I had to reinstall everything, including XP... Now, after installing S7 V5.4 the pc doesn't recognize the CP5512 anymore, it keeps asking for drivers and doesn't show in PG/PC interface. Even after a restore of S7 still no luck. Any idea's? PS: everything worked fine befor crash, same interface, same software... Thanks

It seems that this didn't happened or the device isn't recongnized correct by your laptop. Are you sure that all your hardware drivers are installed correctly? If so you can have a look at the following FAQ, maybe your card isn't visible for Step 7. How do you assign the parameters of the PG/PC interface in general and what is the remedy if the device driver cannot be selected or is not visible The 2nd part of the FAQ is very interesting in your situation.

StephenV Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	No luck, It shows in device manager as simatic net network controller with a yellow explanation mark... It does show in add/remove interface in PG/PC interface but I can't select install cause it's light grey.

Check if the files for CP5512 are there, maybe copy them from a second system. Then install drivers manually again and give the system the files needed from the S7SDD folder.

StephenV Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I'm installing Simatic Net as we speak... No CP5512 files to be found in S7SDD, only for CP5511... I don't have another system at hand, can I download these files somewhere or how should the correct files be named? Thanks

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I am sorry but if you look for some parts of the driver look for the S7OPCMCX.VXD It usually is in the Windows directory at the drivers. The S7-DOS package is usually not downloadable. You need to install a package that contains S7-DOS. I hope the SIAMTIC NET installation will fix the CP 5512. Best regards J_Bell
