CP5611 as DP slave connection problem

Hi,

I have a computer with a CP5611 running as a DP slave with an OPC server on a Profibus network. I cannot establish successfully the connection with the master. I cannot find any procedure to help me in my configuration:

- A pc running Softnet DP with a Profibus card

- An independent Profibus network configured on another station.

Al the procedures that I found are doing the configuration on the same station, or don’t give an example for the master side and I think the problem is on the master side.

For the slave side (my side), I have followed the procedure (Guideline_S7_PB_e.pdf). In the NCM manager, I have added the Profibus network, the PC Station, the OPC server, the CP5611 (with correct address from the master configuration). I have setup the Profibus network (with network and subnet ID), created a new S7 connection for the OPC Server, I have put the correct server address, rack/slot for the connection partner. I have put the configuration in the Station editor. I have use the OCP scout to verify the connection and the connection quality is good.

On the master side, here what we have tried:

- Added a PC Station in the NCM manager, with a CP5611 assigned at the same address as in the slave configuration.

- Inserted the PC station with the CP5611 on the Profibus network and connected it

- Added all the signal that we want with universal modules on the CP5611

We cannot see the slave online after this when we go online with the master project. We tried to add an s7 connection on the master, but with no success. We have tried to copy the station from my project in the master project, no success also, and some warning that some nodes need to be reloaded.

What should be done on the master side? Is it ok to create a pc station to assign the 5611? Do we need to do it another way? Do we need to create a S7 connection on the master side to match the one on the slave side? What else should be done?

We know that the physical connection is OK, we are able to download the configuration to the slave card from the computer that is used for the master configuration, and from the slave computer I can see the Profibus connection is ok in the Configuration Console.

Is there someone who can give me some hint on what to try next?

I’m in Saudi Arabia now, and I need to fix this before leaving…
