CP5611 & Scada System

Hi all,

I need to connect an PC with a Scada Application to a Profibus network through the CP5611 card. I guess i've configured the card correctly by the book and with softnet.

What is happening is that on the scada I/O driver configuration i when i need to specify the VFD file it does no appear in the list. On the drivers manual it's said that if this ocurrs the reason is something not well configured on my station, but i've done everthing by the book!

Could someone give some help?

(I can give some more network specification if needed)

The reason why i'm using a CP5611 instead of a ethernet card is because; 1stit is an old machine with already a Scada application and must now be added to an existent Profibus structure. 2nd was a requesite from the client who did not accept my ethernet structure offer option. The only update that i've made till now was update from Win98 SO to W2K SO. And after that i depared myself with this problem. now i'm trying to replicate it on the office.

I'm testing Simatic Net 2005 Edition on a Win2K SP4 SO.

By now i'm just trying the configurations eve without PLC. After this i'll try to connect PC (CP5611) to a S7-314 CPU for tests via MPI. So i've not used the OPC Scout yet.

I'm knew to this software but i've done all by the book to configure the Station.

On the Profibus structure (on my client) there is a DP-DP Coupler. Must i have special procedure to that?

I've got all the mem addresses that i need to link. My problem it's really the VFD filethat doesn't appear in the list.

The protocol i must use on client platform is PROFIBUS (but now i'm just testingstep/step MPI configs (S7-Communication) ).

During this morning i've restarted the step/step configuration from the begining and i already can have listed on my combo box the VFD file. (that was my really problem).

Now i'll have to test with real communications with the PLC. Then i'll give you the feedback!

Well,

I guess 'ill not have the oportunity to test with real equipment during this week. I don't have it all here in the office. it's in use on other client.

But i've another question.I've made this tests in the office and so far so good. But on my client what i'll have to do is an addition to an existent PROFIBUS structure (in attachment).

What procedures shoul i take first?

Should i proceed the same way here in the office or i'll need to upload the existent structure first?

Sorry but i'm a newbie with this kind of siemens systems.
