CPU 1212C can not connect HMI (KTP600PN)

ntt_1989 Posts: 6 Rating: (3)	Dear Siemens community , We have already connected 7 PLCs 1212C ( firmware 1.0 ) and 1 HMI KTP600PN , they are working good very long time until last week . 1 PLC failed . I changed it by 1 new PLC ( firmware 4.0 ) but the new PLC could not connect HMI KTP600PN ( although I have already configured all parameter of new PLC to make the same old PLC . HMI KPT600PN could not get the data from new PLC . Please advise me ?

William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1198)	I have no clear idea how to help, but some thoughts.. How is the HMI configured.... access data by symbol or by address? If by address - make sure the DBs you read from is not optimized. Make sure the DB entries that needs to be accessed by the HMI is set to "Accessible from HMI". Check the password configuration in the hardware. The way the password works has changed. Ensure that the HMI is allowed free access. I have doubt that it is strictly speaking required to have the Profinet port configured for HMI communications. It may be a good idea to do so. Maybe create an HMI in your new PLC's project with the same specs as your actual HMI. Drag one DB tag from PLC to HMI project to ensure the communication link configuration is set. ... There are some other things that can be checked - some I assume you have checked already. Without your project it is hard to identify the gremlin. Else register a formal request for help with Siemens Support: My requests (0) Good luck. w

If you didn't download your panel/KTP than your panel is still searching for a firmware 1.0 CPU. Project tree--Right click on CPU/panel -- Compile -- Hardware (rebuild all) / Software (rebuild all) Also check the configuration of the connection, maybe it's lost as you probably made the FW1.0 in something like Tia V10.5-12 and the 4.0 in Tia V13 so you did a migration to the project and you changed the CPU in the project. Project tree--Devices & Networks--Tab: network view--connections
