CPU 314 and CP340

Guybrows Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	CPU 314 (6ES7 314-1AE04-0AB0) CP 340 (6ES7 340 - 1AH02 - 0AE0) I am trying to setup a datalogic barcode scanner to send information. I have setup the following two units with no problems but when i try and send the FB2 Receive from the simens example projects it will not allow me to upload it. I have had a look through the help files and all I can think is that this CPU is not compatible. Can anyone confirm this for me? Many Thanks Guy

Pittiplatsch Posts: 1368 Rating: (126)	Hello, I do not know the FB2 and the example, but the first idea myself was: the work/load memory of the plc is tooo small...our plc is very old...soo...please check the size of the FB and the size of the memory in the PLC.

Guybrows Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi Sorry for late reply had a busy shift last night........ FB2 and FB3 are send and recive function blocks which come with the cp340 on a cd. When I try to download to PLC I get the error "Unable to copy block FB2" When I click on the details tab I get the following errors (D280) Error compiling the block in s7-300 cpu. Remedy --- Correct the illegal adress, the command or the lock number or reduce the number of transfer parameters.

Guybrows Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	It appears that SFB52 andSFB 53 are needed on the cpu to allow the upload of fb2 and fb3. I checked Performance data on module information whilst online and My CPU 314 does not have these SFB's so I am guessing that I cant run my CP 340 s in this setup? Anyone know if its possible to add SFB's I tried uploading the required SFB's but it will not allow me. The download button is shaded out. Cheers

Hello,

as I supposed, your cpu is tooo old for the CP.

That's from the technical data from the CPU

● Program organization		Linear, structured
● System functions (SFC)		Interrupt and error processing, copy data, clock functions, diagnostic functions, module parameterization, operating mode transitions
● System function blocks (SFB)		1

Only one SFB is allowed. so...I think, you must change the CPU

I've worked on some communication projects long time ago, but CPU314 is suitable for PtP communication with CP340. Using old library v1.0 FB2, FB3 bloks working for me great on CPU314 firmw. 1.0.0 with CP340. Try look at your prj, this looks like you've used v2.0 FBs.
