CPU 314C-2PN/DP Got Blackout

First there are 2 S7317-2 PN/DP that got blackout, then after temporary replacing it by CPU-314C-2PN/DP after certain time it also Got blackout(During removing and inserting of Front Connector for Built in IO) Best regards, Reymond

But could it be when connecting the IO's your consuming more power than the plc can deliver? And that's why you are getting the so called blackout? I advice you to check the datasheet of your CPU and check if you are exceeding the maximum load. Kind regards, Jens

Reymond Posts: 112 Rating: (0)	Hi Jens, Thank you for your reply, what I mean on blackout is all LED has no light when 24Vdc was connected to the CPU. There were 2 CPU and Remote IO's getting supply from 20Amps Power Supply. Both the CPU got blackout but the remote IO's are not getting any problem. We already tried to connect a separate power supply for CPU only but still it wont powerup. We hope to solve this issue. Thank you Best regards

playerslight Posts: 1064 Rating: (72)	Check your voltage going to the plc is it possible that you are getting a spike in the power supply? to lose 3 plc's is rare . will the old plc's power up if you hook them to a different power supply? when you replaced the plc's do they run for a while or fail immediately

I don't know why the othe modules and interface module were not affected which also get from that 20Amps power supply if the cause is spike. Best regards,

Ayman Elotaify Platinum Expert Joined: 5/28/2008 Last visit: 9/9/2024 Posts: 4515 Rating: (839)	Hello, It's clear that the problem is in the power feeding. Do you use a stabilized Power Supply? It is recommended to use Siemens Power Supply. And It's recommended to put fast fuses in the CPU feeding as well. I hope that you did not lost all these CPUs. You can try one by one to look internally in the CPU feeding circuit, there's is an on board fuse. If you can get it and replaced with another one, your CPU will work again. Please feedback us. Hope this helps.

Best regards, You may have a faulty power supply, try replacing it and connecting it to a new PLC.

For 314: 5A and for 317: 2.5A Inrush currentrefers to the maximum, instantaneous inputcurrentdrawn by an electrical device when first turned on. You must ensure this when you turning on the CPU
