cpu 315-2 pn/dp RT support ?

Vido Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hi I'm working on my thesis using cpu 315-2 pn/dp v2.3 with ET200S IM 151-3 HF (and some modules) connected over PROFINET and Step7 v5.3 to program it. I am trying to regulate positon of a metallic sphere inside a magnetic field. Requirements for this regulation is a sampling time of <5ms. I noticed while reading some documents, that by upgrading firmware of cpu, I could enable RT. I couldn't find any documents relating to this function, but from what I can tell it supports cycle synchronisation betwen the CPU and ET200S. I'm wondering if I could benefit anything by upgrading the firmware and by using STEP7 v.5.4 to somehow synchronise communication ? I would also appreciate if someone could point me to any documentation about RT communication. Regards

However to use this functions you need V2.5 and this new functions are only working wenn you have STEP7 V5.4 SP1... Calm_down Posts: 324 Rating: (30)	Hi, just for you to know. As you use PROFINET you already use RT. It is just the method the communication takes place. If you want you can also Read some books about PROFINET... some are also made by SIEMENS Employees. I hope you will find what you look for. Stay calm.
