CPU 315-2DP with NPBA-12

The NPBA-12 follows the Profidrive profile, same as the old Siemens Micromaster drives.

The following file is from a chinese site, but if you place your cursor on the document and click you can read pages one by one. The integration of the drive is described step-by-step in the file.

You need to integrate the gsd file of the NPBA-12 module in Step 7 to integrate it to the Profibus catalog (do that in Hardware config).

Select PPO 4,( no data for PKW parameters, 6 data for PZD process data) which will give you 6 words to exchange with the drive. The first word is always the Control Word the second is the Speed Refernce. The document does not give details on the formatting of these words in ABB world, so you will have to find the Profibus  documentation on your model of drive from the ABB site.

To exchange with the PLC the file above suggests SFC 14 and SFC 15 to read and write all 6 words as a single block.

You can access each odf the 6 words individually if you prefer, using MOVE instructions. Look at examples for the Micromaster drive:
