In case of CP340 you will need to write your own Modbus protocol program in user program. But if you use CP341, you buy loadable drivermodbus master.
You can choose either of the one above. Oneis withsoftware on CD and one is without it. But software is available for download for free. But to use it you will still need one of the parts above orderd because that is the way to get the dongle to put behind CP341 which will enable the software. |

Yes, you can use CP340 and CP 341 on an ET200M rack with an S7-400 CPU via profibus as long as the integrated DPinterface of the CPU is used for connecting to the ET200M station. Check the FAQ below. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/24708615 But as I mentioned above, CP340 is just a serialcommunication interface that supports ASCII, Serial Printer and 3964R protocols, it does not support modbus. You should use CP341 with loadable modbus driver for this. |

Dear autom, I hope you are aware of the fact that the CP 340 may not be used with the MODBUS RTU Master / Slave driver at all. For one of these two drivers you require the CP 341, there is no way around that. The documentation of the MODBUS driver contains a sample to configure this CP. Loadable driver "Modbus Master (RTU)" Loadable driver Modbus Slave (RTU) Best regards J_Bell |
