As indicated, I'm running a 417-5 redundant system. I've been through the manual and have found numerous information on max number of connection; enough to confuse me that is. I currently have 21 S7 connections and 25 ISO on TCP connection. What I don't know is how many connection I can have. Is there a total number of connections or is there a max number of S7 and a max number of ISO on TCP connections? Thank you in advance for your help.

I understand from the technical data of 417-5H V6.0 this way:
- the overall limit seems to be 120.
- One connection is reserved for a PG.
- Another for an OP.

That leaves 118 connections in total (if you don't have more PGs and HMI connected).
To be devided among S7 and open IE.

The integrated Profinet port seems to support up to 118 open IE.
If you run however over a CP, you see that the program can handle max 64 jobs AG_SEND/AG_RECV at the same time.

Be aware that redundant systems perform synchronization between CPUs each time received data may cause the two CPUs to compute different results. In other words, communication will increase the cycle time more than in a non redundant system.

Would be nice that the technical expert from this conference can confirm my understanding.
