CPU 944 goes stop when i download L and T PW

createstars Posts: 71 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I need a little of help here. I'm have a exisitng CPU944 S5 PLC +Di/DO modules +IM308C + IM306 in a same rack. I wanted to map the S5 inputs to S7 PLC . the whole system was working fine, no bus fault, no red lights. But Once i download the mapping program, L IW 0 T PW 66 The CPU goes stop, and RN led on IM308C keep blinking. I thought it would be my addressing assignment wrong or what. I tried using OW instead, but it wouldn't work.. Could anyone help me? Could be the addressing on the IM306? What address should i set on DIP switch of IM306 for the IM308C module card? Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you, Cresta

Hello createstars didyouactually configure the IM308C with COM Profibus and if so, what I/O's have you choosen for the link between the IM308C and the S7? Please give us also more details about your proposed system configuration (e.g. I presume your IM308C is the DP Master and theS7 is the DP Slave, but perhaps you plan use DP/DP couplers instead etc.). For now, all I can tell you is that the IM306 DIP switches are only relevant for Digital and Analogue I/O modules as well as add some links to manuals and exampleswhich will hopefullyhelp. createstars Posts: 71 Rating: (0)	Thanks Fritz, I have configure the IM308C with com profibus V5.1, In Com Profibus, I have two Im 308C (one master one Slave-S7 Cpu). For each of the IM308C , I added one 10bytes/Di Constcy 1 byte module. with the address of P066. From the DP port of the IM308C, one profibus cable is connected to the S7 CPU.

createstars Posts: 71 Rating: (0)	Hi fritz, In the IM308C manuals, pg 6-3 , there is a statement "FB250 and Fb251 function blocks with the CPU do not comply with the specified sequence for accessing the distributed I/O. This can cause an interruption in data traffic on the profibus-DP bus and a reset of the slave outputs. the im308-C may stop processing and the inputs/outptus are not updated" and in the FAQ document stated "Reading and outputting of analog values must be done by means of L PW and T PW operations" Do you think this would stop the PLC? But on another program , i notices that the FB250 is called in OB13 which use CPU 944 as well. Wouldappreciate if you can help. Thank you Createstars

I presume you intend to have the IM308C as the DP Master and the S7 CPU as the DP Slave, correct? If so you MUST configure the S7 CPU with the correct GSD file (see HERE for them) as a DP Slave in COM Profibus and there would be only one IM308C in your COM Profibus configuration (representing the DP Master in your 115). Can you please check and verify this and ideally upload your COM PB config file here. As for FB250 & FB251: You are correct, these shouldn't be used in a 944 CPU to read fromAnalogue modules in a DP Slave station of the IM308C (see also HERE for more). Having said that, you said in your first post that the IM308C already existed and that all was working fine before you started to add the S7 CPU to the COM PB configuration, so I doubt that this has anything to do withyour current problem (do you have Analogue I/O's in your existing DP Slave I/O stations? Perhaps they are all in the central or expansion racks in which case the FB250/251 issue won't affect you). I hope this helps

It's just a simple 10 Consistency byte data , with the address of P066 . Please review. I hope this helps I tried to transfer the data using QW in Com profibus and "O" in S5 program. but this would stop the CPU. Could not understand why is that.. createstars Posts: 71 Rating: (0)	Hi Fritz, I upload the attachment together with the Pb5 and S5 file. IN the S5 , only one OB1 included. L IW 0 T OW 52 PB5 is just another same IM308C with QW52. (I thus far presumed that the IM308C is the DP Master, but your your COMPB configuration has no S7 CPU as a DP Slave in it ...)

createstars Posts: 71 Rating: (0)	Hi Fritz, Sorry to confuse you. Basically the CPU s7 is working as a DP master and IM308C located with the same rack as the S5 is working as a DP slaves. I tested on two CPU. CPU 942B and CPU 944. At first I tested on CPU 942Bto use the P-addressing to map the s5 inputs to the s7 with following: L IW 0 T PW 66 However, it works on CPU 942B but NOT on CPU 944. Then i saw one of the post on the forum stating using Q-addressing. Hence i tried using Q-addressing, with "QW" configured in Com profibus and "OW" is S5 L IW 0 T OW 66 but it doesn't work on both the CPUs. I hope this will clear up the confusion i made. Sorry about it. Really hope you can help. Thank you Fritz.
