Hello, As far as I know, CPUs in range S7-300/400 can communicate with panels such as MP270 via MPI port that is the default facility on all S7-300/400 CPUs. For MODBUS over RS-485 , you have option of using CP341 that supports variety of protocols such as MODBUS RTU(Master/Slave) configuration.CP341 is a communication processor that can be installed on main rack in S7-300 or over Decentralized Peripherie Stations. For CPUs with integral PTP connection (with limited supporting protocols) check S7-313C-2PTP or S7-314C-2PTP. I hope these comments help you, Hamid Hosseini

Hello FranMar, I would use a CPU of S7-300 series together with a CP341, as MODBUS protocol is already supported by the CP341. regards

And everything is working OK. Now, we need to send some values and data from CPU 314 to our SCADA through a RS485/232 conversor. I was thinking, that MP 277 has a RS 485 and maybe it will be the solution to communicate data and values. Is that correct ????

Hello FranMar; The MP 277 is not designed to connect to a SCADA system to exchange data. It can easily connect to S7 PLCs through Profibus or Profinet; it can connect to other familes of PLC (see the following manual- Part 2) through special drivers in WinCC Flexible, or OPC: WinCC flexible 2008 Communication Part 1 - Siemens WinCC flexible 2008 Communication Part 2 - Siemens What SCADA application are you using in your project? It should have some communication channels integrated to exchange data with various PLCs, including OPC, which is the easy way to connect to protocols not internally supported by the SCADA software, Please give us more information on the system you are setting up, maybe someone here can give you hints from theiur experience. FranMar Advanced Member Joined: 1/22/2011 Last visit: 6/23/2022 Posts: 43 Rating: (0)	SCADA was built with GE FANUC PLC `s and receives data through a converter RS232/485 device from slaves, the slaves are six pack of converter`s from analog signal to MODBUS. I think the CP 341 can help me to communicate with the converter, and send data from my s7-300 plc to SCADA. I need to communicate a CP341 with a converter in MODBUS 485. Do you think that is it posible ???

Hello FranMar;

There are 3 versions fof the CP 341, each with its specialized interface:

6ES7341-1CH02-0AE0	CP341 RS422/485-INTERFACE
6ES7341-1AH02-0AE0	CP 341 RS232C (V.24)
6ES7341-1BH02-0AE0	CP341 20MA-INTERFACE (TTY)

You will also need aLoadable driver for the CP 341 (Modbus RTUmaster or Modbus RTU slave):

6ES7870-1AA01-0YA1	S7 DRIVER F. CP341,MODBUS MASTER, W/O SW
6ES7870-1AB00-0YA0	Modbus Slave f. CP341/CP441-2
