CPU migration

the way I usually do it is to first make a backup copy. You never know what can happen. In most cases I do not use "exchange CPU" capability. Instead of that, in project tree in Simatic manager I go to CPU "S7 Program" folder and copy-paste it anywhere outside CPU. Then I go to HW config, delete existing CPU (do not forget to disconnect profibus devices from master - if you have them) and insert a new CPU.

Connect new CPU to desired networks (MPI/PROFIBUS/IE), compile HW config, go to Netpro and compile it also. No errors should be prompted.

Then go to new CPU in SM project tree, delete it's S7 Program folder, and re-copy-paste old S7 Program folder. Open consistency check applet, recompile all blocks and follow the results. maybe you'll have to adjust some code.
