CPU314 DONT RECOGNIZE MMC

Master-125 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello I have a S7 MMC 128 KO, i have used it on test on a CPU3172DP when i put it again on CPU314 it didnt recognize it the stop led is blinking at 0.5Hz i have tried resetting it by pushing the MRES selector as described on the raz procedure for S7 MMC (push for approx 9 seconds ...) but no way it steel out of work cant upload cant download... i am trying upload via a USB/MPI ADAPTER connection is ok so the prob is exclusevly on MMC when i plug the MMC again to the CPU317 it works, this is logic siemens says that the raz cant work with NOT damaged MMC. Any sugestions, i will be greatful thanks in advance

Master-125 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	thx for reply but i dont have a prommer writer , even so i fetch up for a utility that can regenerate the MMC S7 format just copying from a valid MMC with the same proporties (size..) wich can be mounted on a pc card reader (commonly used for standards format) so dont have need to the prommer from siemes but i exclude this opportunity dont have a good MMC TO COPY and afraid for going on such operation... the real prob is that the mecanizm responsible for erasing data recognize MMC as good but CPU and CP recognize it as faulty... May be Formatting is the unique issue ? Any ideas Thanks ...

If you format this card as normal MMC card than Siemens support will not help you. Be careful.

Such bug is common and can occurs in lots of case going each time to support or bying o prommer may be a solution, i was just looking if there is a more suitable manner to solve this prob. Any ways, i will look around may be there is an other issue, for the moment i will call support. Regards.

Sulung Bronze Member Joined: 5/26/2007 Last visit: 9/3/2024 Posts: 127 Rating: (3)	try to make a new hardware configuration with simatic manager for cpu 314 then download it to the cpu with your MMC in it. forget the led. once you are done downloading this new configuration. you will not get the fault anymore. i have done it couple of times with different cpu.

Master-125 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi, Impossible S7-online dont recognize the connected partner when the MMC is inserted, it seems like if the MMC containing unvalide boot sector with the CPU3172DP...so cant download nothing even the material config... Regards

Master-125 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello Just for information the access to theMMC when inserted online with the CPU317 is slow and if you try exploring block somtimes it goes down with a bug, i dont understand this structure of MMC siemens Format is so delicat, they dontmanage loose of data neither conflict data structure... as basic as never... thanksi will try contact local support, will take you informed about the prob.
