CPU318-2 STOP caused by I/O access error

Let's look at event #2 in your diagnostic messages:

First point, the type of error that was detected is "I/O Access Error, reading"; for that type of fault, OB 122 is required in your processor memopry, and it does not exist (that is what the "OB not found..." line refers to); please add OB 122 to your program and download it to the CPU.

Further information here is that the fault comes from slave 30, is located in FC 21 and happens when you try to read PIW 272 in your program. Does that help you out a bit? Does that correspond to the details you configured for your ABB robot slave in your hardware configuration and in your program?

Inserting OB 122 in your CPU will give you further diagnostics; at least the CPU should not go to STOP when it detects the error. But you can now figure out that the slave at address 30 is not accessible to the DP-master, so check the connections and the configuration )both in the S7-318 and in the ABB robot).

Sorry, due to the information provided, I am now more confused than before.

The configurations seem well done, and the Profibus address of the Rexroth slave is configured as 10, as you indicated earlier. I/O addesses reserved for communication with the rexroth slave are PIW256-262 and PQW256-262.

However, the contents of the diagnostic buffer continue to point to a slave at address 30, with a required OB 122 for an unaccessible address PIW272. The same message appears in entries # 27, 35, 42, 52... of the diagnostic buffer. Unfortunately, since the realtme clock of the CPU isn't programmed correctly, all the messages are dated from 2007 and we cannot relate the messages to a timeline.

So: do you access anywhere in your program an address  PIW272? Do you call an FC21? Did you insert an empty OB 122 in your program (and the CPU) as requested by the diagnostic buffer?

Have you downloaded the compiled HWConfig to your CPU, and have you compared the online/offline blocks of your CPU, to check if there are major differences between what is in your programming PC and the load memory of the CPU?
