cpu414 and communication to a barcode via cp441-2 or cp443-1

seba.leiva Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello! I have a S7-414 and a CP441-2, but i use just one canal with a RS232C card. I will connect a barcodereader via RS232 but when i wanted to program PLC realized a CPU doesn't support SFB61, RCV_TPT it only has FSB13 BRCV and FSB9 URCV but those don't work with a common barcode reader. When i scan a barcode the led Rtx at the CP441 lights during a couple of second but i can't read the data. Any help??? There is also connected a CP443-1, but i don't know what is connected via this card. Is it possible to connect a router and connect the barcode reader via ethernet to the router, the thing that is connecte to CP443-1 to the router and the router to CP443-1?

Kaulquappe Posts: 3093 Rating: (324)	Hello Seba.leiva, a CP441-2needs BSEND and BRCV to transfer data. You will find the required information in the CP441-2 manual. Did you check the diagnostic buffer of the CP which errors are reported? I recommend to check the outputs of BRCV als well. For PTP communication in S7-400 a connection in NetPro is required. By the way, ethernet and RS232 are different physical interfaces. You can only connect them when using a converter. Regards, Kaulquappe

I read the manuals and I tried to use BRCV but the CP441-2 is connected to a common datalogic barcode scanner that doesn't have the function of BSEND, it just send the data via RS232, 9600 baud, 8 bits, 1 stopp och none parity. CP doesn't report any error, actually the RTx lights on when i scan a barcode, i understand this as the CP is receiving data, but i cant read it via BRCV. I tried URCV as well, but it needs USEND And for the industrial ethernet option i have an anybus converter RS232 to Profinet and a siemens switch. To the CP343 is connected a WinCC PC, so i was thinking to connect the winCC PC, the anybus converter and the CP343-1 to the switch. Hope you can help me, i am a bit lost here. Best Regards!

It neither indicates, that these characters are received without error nor that the end of the telegram was recognized. One of these 3 information will be available, depending on the actual state: - NDR at BRCV - ERROR at BRCV and error number in STATUS - error in the diagnostic buffer of the CP All outputs at BRCVare displayed dynamically! Please note: input R_ID is only evaluated with the first call of BRCV, changes need a STOP/RUN transition of the CPU. CP441-2 needs BRCV (it does not work with URCV), BSEND is not necessary when the barcode reader sends without getting polled. I recommend to connect the barcode reader directly to the CP441, each additional hardware piece is one which may be parameterized wrong or which may break down. Regards, Kaulquappe

seba.leiva Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi Kaulquappe! I will try again with the BRCV, i suppouse that i have to put R_Id as 0 because there is not BSEND. When i tried NDR was 0, Error was 0 so status error was also 0 but i didn't check the diagnostic buffer on the CP. I will look again the Hardwareconfiguration and the connection plus i will try with BSEND. There is already a CP441 connected and both canals are used with RS232, they receive and transmit data to a carrier. BTW i am using ASCII RS232 protocol for communication and thats configurated at netpro as well as address (1002). As i said i will try it tomorrow and i will let you know how it goes. I was checking the netpro and i saw at when i click at connections partner and then unespecifited, this is connected to slot6 cause there ara a CP442-1 but scanner is connected to slot 7 with other CP442-1. I tried to change it but every time that i open connection partner the only one that i can see is unespicifated and that one is connected to slot 6. Do i have to add a new connection partner? and how do i do it?

You can add an "other station" in the Simatic Manager with "insert". Or you use an unspecified connection, then an "other station" is not necessary. Regards, Kaulquappe

seba.leiva Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	HiKaulquappe!! It worked!!!.........It worked with a new connection as unspecified and BRCV calling to the connection address (1002 HEX). Then i proved without a new connection but calling direct to the Input address of the CP in HW (8180 dec, 1FF4 HEX). and it also worked!. Anyways i used a new connection to be safe because according to the description tha ID of BRCV is between 1000 HEX and 1400 HEX. Thank you very much for your help and patience!!
