Create an image from SD card

I've now invested a lot of time updating node-RED. Now I would like to create an image from the SD card. Best on Windows. Is there a program for that?

To create an image of an SD card in general, either as a backup copy or for transferring to other SD cards, you can use freely available programmes such as Win32 Disk Imager or balena's Etcher for Windows. Below is a very brief guide on how to create an image with the first tool and burn it to a fresh SD card with the other.

Creating an SD Card Image using Win32 Disk Imager:

1. Download and install Win32 Disk Imager from the link provided.
2. Insert the SD Card with the Linux installation into your computer using an SD Card reader.
3. Open Win32 Disk Imager and select the drive letter of your SD Card under Device.
4. Click the blue folder icon under Image File and choose the location where you want to save it.
5. Name the image file and add the .img extension, then click Save.
6. Click the Read button to create the image of your SD Card.
   
   

Writing your Image to another fresh SD Card using Balena Etcher

1. Download and install Balena Etcher from the link provided.
2. Insert a blank SD Card into your computer using an SD Card reader.
3. Open Balena Etcher and click Flash from file. Locate the file you created and click Open.
4. Click Select target and choose the drive letter of your blank SD Card.
5. Click Flash! to write the image to the new SD Card.
6. Safely eject the SD Card from your computer.

I think I know now where my problem was. I already use Win32 and Etcher. SD card not showing up in Windows 11. I cannot select the disk.

Tested the SD card with a Win10 computer. There it is displayed.
