Creating a Alarm Message whit process value blocks using VBA

rtd Posts: 30 Rating: (6)	Hi everyone, I'm using VBA to create some WinCC screens, including TAGs and Alarm Messages. To create alarm messages, I'm using the CreateSingleAlarm function. But now I have a field that the user types an observation and this need to be in the alarm log (or any log). I know that I can use text tags, but what I need to do to create a alarm message with a process value block using VBA? The only thing that I can do with the CreateSingleAlarm function is to put a message in one single user text block.

rtd Posts: 30 Rating: (6)	1) You can't use this in Runtime. This is a VBA code used in a macro in Graphic Design. 2) The help of the WinCC explains the parameters of the function. You can read then following this path: Working with WinCC -> VBA for Automated Configuration -> VBA in other WinCC Editors -> VBA in Alarm Logging - > CreateSingleAlarm Function It explains the HMIGO type. And the parameters of the functions. But I will try to explain some of them. - <language_code> - In the Text Library, you define some languages. In this case, you provide the language witch the alarm message text will be stored. The language code is a four-number code (english is 1033, portuguese is 1046 and so on. i don't know where can you get the complete list) - <message_text> - The text that will be stored in Text library and used as a alarm message. - TEXT_ADD_REFCOUNT - If the text you want to add already exist in text library, the reference to the text won't be increased. - lngTextID - It's the ID of the text that will be used as alarm message. In this case, the ID is given by the CreateText function. - <CLASS_CODE> - Here you informe in witch Class the alarm message will be part of, for example: SINGLE_ALARM_CLASS_2 - <TYPE_CODE> - The Type of the alarm. "The permissible values depend on the message class: Class 1: Values from 1 to 16 Class 2: Values from 17 to 32 Class 3: Values from 33 to 48 ... Class 18: Values from 263 to 288" - <TAG> - It's the alarm TAG. - <PROCESS_VALUE_TAG> - When you create an alarm, you can display the content of a tag instead of just a static text. Here I put the name of a tag that stores the name of the user that were logged in when the alarm was active.

Regards from Slovenija In that way, I create the entire screen automatically. The VBA looks for data in an excel sheet and places the objects on the screen, create tags and alarms. That's not possible to create alarm messages in runtime with VBS (unless I'm terrible wrong). But You can try use the ODK functionality that Ikkezelf tolda few posts above. But based in the topics a read before, I don't know with it is possible to make it in runtime with the ODK either. What you can do is to create a process value block to the alarm or warning and use a text tag as a text message. This way, the alarm shown will display the current text of the tag. rtd Posts: 30 Rating: (6)	I don't know how the ODK functionality works, so I can't answer if it is impossible to do. But you can create alarm/warning messages using text-tags. This way you can personalize the text changing the text of the tag. But you still have to create them. What I'm saying is that you can't create NEW alarm messages in runtime as far as I know (maybe it is possible with the ODK). But you can have custom texts using the process value block and text tags.
