Cross-reference from PLC to WinCC Unified not working

M4DSEN Member Joined: 1/20/2022 Last visit: 11/15/2023 Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	I've encountered that the cross-referance does not always work with Unified, and I'm unsure if I'm doing something wrong. In the PLC code, I use DB_EM05.bClearTool This is linked and working in the HMI tags: This tag is then used in scripting: Why can't I see that the PLC tag is linked to the HMI tag? And is it just because i use scripting that the cross-referance doesn't work? (I hope not..)

You are just writing the tag name into a JSON-formatted object, which of course will be used later to access the tag. However, this is something that is not supported by the cross-reference functionality. Kind regards Stefan

I would recommend updating the environment to the latest updates and trying again.

But is it the same explanation of why I can't see the link between the PLC and the HMI on the PLC tag? This is not scripting or anything, just two tags linked to eachother?

You may need to recreate your cross-reference information. This can be done in "Settings > General > Cross-references". Kind regards Stefan
