Cross Reference in DB (TIA PORTAL V13)

NCO Posts: 2 Rating: (1)	Hello, I have a small issue with the Cross Reference tool in the programing section : When I choose a %M, which is used in my program and my HMI, I can see these links in the Cross Reference. But when I open a DB, select a variable which is also used in my program and the HMI, I can't see where is used my variable in the HMI. Do I have to activate an option in the software to solve the problem, or I can't do nothing about it? BR

If you expand it, the parts of the DB tags used should appear depending on how you arrived at the cross ref tool. If you right click on the DB and select cross references, that may help you find what you seek more quickly.

I would like to see also where the variable is used in the HMI (from the same cross ref page) I know it's possible to do that with a %M, I did it (cf the printscreen attached) , but with a variable from a DB it doesn't work.. Thank you for showing me something I did not know: Cross referencing M-flags in WinCC also showing you usage for Step7 inside TIA. I normally avoid using M-flags usage in the HMI. My findings were the same as yours on the DB related case. BUT what it the HMI link was not symbolic but absolute (address)? Maybe try that scenario. w

Usab Posts: 33 Rating: (4)	Hello , This is a known issue in cross reference. In V11 you could see the HMI access in cross reference when you select a DB element. But due to performance reasons, this was changed since V12. Now you can only see the access from program blocks if you select a DB element. To see the access from HMI, you have to start the cross reference for the complete DB.
