Taking out CF card during CU operation or putting in CF Card during CU operation is not allowed and you can effect damages.

Most G120 Control Units (for example CU240)don't need a SD cardfor operation. They have an internal ROM to save changes. There you need the SD card for saving parametrization and putting it into another Control unit for serial comissioning or something like that. And your licenses are on the SD card.

Hi ,it is not possible to work without CF card in CU320-2 and i heard thatonce CU is power up and programm is boot is done from CF you may remove it. But this procedure is not recomended by siemens as it may damage CF but just for try you can do. VP
