CU310-2 and S7-1500 (failsafe routing)

In the catalog of the control unit CU310-2 is written:

3 parameterizable, fail-safe (can be used with firmware V4.5
and higher) digital inputs (floating) or alternatively
6 parameterizable digital inputs (floating).
The fail-safe digital inputs can be routed, i.e. they can be
routed via PROFIsafe to a higher-level controller

I want to use a PLC S7-1500 F with a control unit CU310-2 in profinet

can i connect (for example) 3 emergency buttons to the failsafe inputs of CU310 and use they in the safety program of PLC

Hi,

the states of the failsafe DIs are transferred via PROFIsafe telegram (e.g. telegram 31 - ZSW2) to the PLC and there you can use them in your failsafe program. I would recommend to use those function blocks in the PLC F-program to run the PROFIsafe communication:
