CU320-2DP ethernet address

Bob2246 Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	All, I am working on a systemfor the first time, and wish to connect (with STARTER) to a SINAMICS S120, with a CU320-2 DP control unit, using the X127 ethernet port which is found on the front of the CU. Is there a default IP address for this device? If not, How do I go about setting its address? Thanks in advance...

You can set the IP address by STEP7 , using Edit Ethernet Nodes. If you dont have STEP7, use Primary Setup Tool (PST), just click on the link: https://support.automation.siemens.com/BR/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=19440762&caller=view

Lost one whole day for searching what was wrong and CU320 didn't want to accept the PN Address. The solution was: the Ethernet address for X127 commissioning port and PN address for X150 port(s) have to be in different Subnets! When I first assigned 192.168.0.4 to Ethernet port and then 192.168.0.5 to PROFInet port, CU320 kept sending me messages about inconsistent configuration. Once again - different IP Ranges / Subnets for X127 and X150 ports.

I've been reading on Sinamics manual high and low (I dont have access to STARTER or STEP 7), and can't believe that this 2011 forum reply became the solution that finally get the job done for me. Why Siemens is not putting this info in their manual is beyond me.

You can change IP address of X150 port of your drive in Starter under Commisioning interface -> IP interface configuration. Or, if you don't want download Starter, you can use Proneta software, it can be also used for setting IP address and device name. With regards, Martin
