Damage PIW130 in CPU314-IFM

VVago Posts: 784 Rating: (52)	Hello, We have a damage in PIW130 (0-20 mA) for the CPU 314-IFM " 6ES7 314-5AE10-0AB0". But we have a spareanaloge input PIW266 (0-20 mA). 1-Is it possible to rewire PIW130 into PIW266 then download into RAM of the CPU? 2-What is the best way to save the program into MMC in this case: byusing "Copy RAM to ROM" or "Save to memory card"? 3-What are your recommendations for such modifications to avoid the lose of program in MC,MMC or integrated memory ROM in general ?

H_a_m_m_y Experienced Member Joined: 8/19/2013 Last visit: 8/26/2024 Posts: 148 Rating: (11)	Hi Eng. Mohamed, i'm not sure if got all information. Your originalPLC is damaged butyou havea spare part? Is it the same type? If it is the same type you only have to unplug the MMCof your PLC and put into the new one. The new plc will start up in the same way like before. The program is automatically stored on the MMC. If you want to change the user program you only have to change theright position (rewire the input) in your blocks and after that download the program to plc. If there is a loss of power and the plc has to start up after that, it takes the information from the mmc. Hope this will help you ! Regards !

Mohamed, 1 - Select the folder in Simatic Manager "blocks" can be found in the addresses you want to rewire, then select the menu command Tools ----> Rewire. 2 - On this CPU does not have the MMC but the MC big blue, the one to the left: Which memory cards can you use with an S7-300 CPU? and please hakea look: What is the effect of the STEP 7 function "Copy RAM to ROM"? 3 - when you have the program stored in the MC / MMC card you can make a copy of it, if luck should be damaged "rare case", and CPUs that have the battery change at least once a year.
