Danfoss FC302 with Option for Resolver - how to configure the TO for position control?

I think Danfoss FC302 is used for asynchronous motors

1.I think you need to control it with analog signal (speed)

2.Connect your resolver (encoder) to PLC HSC

Then you can read your position you can rise your speed or down speed till your position is reached.

Careful.. A resolver is not a digital encoder and cannot be handled by the PLC as you suggest. I would assume that the resolver card in the drive is utilized to control the speed of the motor (inner speed control loop).

Using the analog control available in the PLC is fine - if you have a digital pulse encoder reading the movement of the machine. Else a communication based control (Profinet?) would work, if some encoder position feedback from the drive is available. 

Danfoss is a brand that does supply documentation. Best to study what functionality is gained by having a resolver card in the drive. It might be that only speed is measured and controlled which would make fitting an external encoder a requirement for the outer positioning loop.

I understand your viewpoint @Mr.V. Yet some additional comments might still be in order for @Alf_Tsoa. Researching their (Danfoss) technical materials deliver some usable results. Like:
