If you want to see the communication you have to use a splitter for the serial interface. You could use Windows Hyper Terminal, and see what the PLC sends and how the FC51 Responds.

Another option is using a Modbus Emulator and generate the telegrams yourself. I think there is a free Demo at http://www.simplymodbus.ca/
