DRG158A Regular Member Joined: 6/7/2015 Last visit: 3/11/2025 Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am trying to change the 'receive data length' dynamically on a TCP connection using the PN port on a CPU, so TCON , TSEND and TRCV. It only seems to work if I disconnect the channel and re-connect again. So if I send a request to the third party device for 20 bytes of information and my receive area is set to say P#DB10.DBX0.0 BYTE 20.. all works well. BUT if I send a request for 10 bytes of information and dynamically change my receive area to P#DB10.DBX0.0 BYTE 10...it doesn't like it. If I activate TDISCON and then TCON , it is happy with the new receive length. Is this just the way it is , or is there a way around it ? Cheers Steve

When you assign "0" to the length an the receiving area is big enough it should be able to receive any length up the the maximum of the buffer. The block gives you the actual received length on RCVD_LEN in bytes. hope this helps, regards,
