8092 (Data log does not exist), run DataLogCreate (which will create, then open the data log file).

In the DataLogWrite instruction, check the status and if it isn't open, run your FB/FC to open the data log. Check the status of the open and if it doesn't exist, run your FB/FC to create the data log. If the data log cannot be created, set a bit to disable any DataLogWrite command(s).

I do not know if this is helpful, but as you say, an example in the help docs would have really helped!!
