Data logging in SQL visu in C# program?

Hello.

I'm trying to figure out a way, to do some smart data logging.

Today i'm logging in a .csv using a VB Script, then opening the .csv file in Excel - but that's not pretty prefessional :(

I'm thinking of start logging to a SQL database instead, then maybe create a small C# application to visualize the logged data....

What's the best way to do this? will it be to create a C# program, and then make a "start program" in WinCC?

What have you guys done?

I'm using WinCC advanced V12. But the limitation on this example is that it's not possible to log String data.

Previous i've done that with the "ts.writline()" in the .csv file in a script.

Can something like this be done when writing to a SQL base?

Seems like the scripting method for logging strings still is usable:

Then ot should just be creating the scripts :)
