I want to read a variety of information type together in modbus RTU

Someone knows what kind of type "Data_ptr" should be?

Explain:

on Modbus_Master block when certain (Data_ptr = real type also int)

we can read or write float or int data and convert them.

when certain (Data_ptr = Event_Any) i can read or write variety of data

together without convert ,  except "Bool" type!

Hello,
if you read registers for instance, Modbus registers are just 16 bit words by definition.
Depending on what the register represents as information (look to the modbus device description you are using concretly) ,
- individual regsiters can be interpreted as 16 bit integers (signes, unsigned)
- two consecutive registers, can corresponds to 32 bit information. And with 32 bits you can have a long integer (32 bit integer  DINT in a PLC), but it can also represent a 32 bit float (a Real).
- four consecutive registers could represent a long float (64 bit real), etc ...

On the other hand,  the data pointer is just the location in the PLC where you are storing the read data.
What it the correct Data pointer?
It depends from the modbus device and what is stored in the regiiters.
If you  have read registers containing inyegers, use a data pointer that points to an array of integers.
If you have read registers containing floats, use a data pointer that points to an array of floats.

You can even point to a structure with a mix of integers and floats, depending on the structure of the consecutive registers.

i can read (float , int , Dint and etc) simultaneously easily but cant read "bool"data with them simultaneous in Data_ptr when is  Real , Dint or etc type

To read a bool you can connect a variable of type word to data_ptr, then if bit 2 need to be read write variable_name.X2

An other tip: use mb_master instead of Modbus_Master, becouse mb_master use less work memory.
