DataBase wincc flexible

Im try to do a database that can communicate with WinCC Flexible, i read about application with SQL Server, but when i start to check the functionality, some friend (i dont know a lot of db and sql) tell me that the application example with SQL server only can run with 2 pc´s one with Operating System Windows 2003 server which is a OS for a PC Server, and another pc with winccflexible as a client, when you read the application example and you are new on this, you think that in the same pc can be running both the server and the WinccFlex, now i going to try use MySQL or ACCESS but i dont find some example for a beginner as me, can you help me the other thing that im going to say is when i try to install on my laptop a error ocurr during .net framework installing and doenst allow me use wincc flexible any more, i have to check that the proble "CLR 80004005 the program will now terminate" is caused for a bad function of .net framework so i install again but first uninstall the others .net framework. Ok, the main question is if there is some application example using access or mysql, and more info about scripts, because i think the link with the db is through Scripts

You have to modify the scripts to conform to your configuration. The SQL Database and the WinCC Flexible PC Runtime can both run on the same PC. Bill

Automation_Systems Posts: 58 Rating: (0)	Thank you Im check the link, but i ask for advice with a friend, and the only way that the PC and Runtime stay in the same pc with sql server is with the OS Windows 2003 Server, the sql server doesnt run in XP or another OS because thisOS operate as Workstation not as a server, so i want to use excel or ms access but for parametrize access the info its not clearly or correctly said i cant understand how make the ODBC for access and use scripts to write and read from there i going to study a lot thanks

billwest Posts: 510 Rating: (117)	I used the WinCC V6.2 SQL Server 2005 SP1 and it ran on XP SP2. I have a colleague that did an application note for MS Access. I have attached the note for your reference. Bill Attachment Log Data to ODBC Database AppNote.zip (430 Downloads)
