Hi all.

I have project with DataMonitor. Configuration look like this:

1. DataMonitor server

 Installed wincc runtime professional v12 sp1, web navigator server and client, datamonitor server and client.

Configured as described in system manual WinCC Professional V12 SP1.

That mean, installed IIS, screens defined for web access (checked Web access in wincc project).

In WinCC project (User administration) created group "Data Monitor operators" with 1002 (web access view only) authorization level.

Created user DM_Demo in Data Monitor operators group, with password: password.

Also created user with same name, and password in Windows and set as Member of SIMATIC HMI Viewer, SIMATIC Report Administrators.

IP address of this computer is 192.168.0.44

WinCC web configurator: Created site with 'WebNavigator' name, Port :80, IP Address: 192.168.0.44, Default web page : DataMonitor.asp

Internet Explorer configured like in system manual.

2. DataMonitor Client

IP Address: 192.168.0.123

Installed WinCC runtime proffessional v12, datamonitor client, web navigator client.

Configured Internet Explorer as in system manual (trusted sites, customization level...)

WinCCViewerRT configured like: Server address: 192.168.0.44, User: DM_Demo, Password: password

When I tried to connect via IE, after some time, the message 'Page cannot be displayed' in IE.

When try with WinCCViewerRT, also cannot conect to server.

Windows firewall is off on both computers.

I follow all guide from system manual but it not work. Also, this is local network, just to notice.

When I try this on one computer with DM client and DM server, everithing works good.

Does someone have experience in configuring DataMonitor? please guide  me if you have some tips

What do you mean by that?

You mean to say, on same machine server and client is working fine. Only its not working if you are going to connect other pc as client to your server pc.

If this is the case then  you need to go to sharing and share everything as printer etc under private n public option for both client and server pc

Then just open the Simatic shell of server and see client is visible or not.

Also create one folder on server pc and share with client pc. After that just check from client pc , its getting accees from client or not.

Testing purpose, create the same password n user name for client pc also.

As per manual you need to change client IE setting also.

Assuming you have Win 7 installed on both Server & client side, just have a look at "Sharing options.jpg" to get exact Idea on where you can set the sharing options.

Again assuming you have Win 7 in server, simplest way is to just open "My Computer" or "Computer" from stat menu or Windows Explorer (Press Windows Key + E) & the last Icon in that you find in that window is "Simatic Shell". Relevant screenshots are "Simatic Shell.jpg" & "Simatic Shell Folder.jpg"

Basically you need to have access to server from client. In such case I prefer to create user only in Server windows, give the user specific rights & add the user in relevant groups, create same groups in client windows also & connect the client to the domain & login with the User name password created in server. Later you can use the DM_Demo credentials for web access.

Could you give more details on the OS on both the computers & Antivirus installed?

About OS:

   On the site I have on server OS Windows server 2008. But I would like to run on Win7, and    

following the settings on Win7 I wil, l try to set Win Server 2008.

   In test environment : On the server side I have Win7 Ultimate SP1 32bit. On the client side I have    Win7 Professional SP1 32bit. 

This is setting for test environment:

   On the server side I already have sharing turn on for Home (Work) and Public.

   In both Home and Public section every option is turn on except Password protected sharing which is turned off.

   On the client side sharing is default...turned off. is that good?

   Do I need to share some folder on server or client?

   Both computers must be in same domain?

Everything is clear for me about Simatic shell. Just to repeat, If computers is interconnected, it would be shown in Simatic shell.
