DataMonitor variable not updating

DesignTech Experienced Member Joined: 9/6/2008 Last visit: 11/1/2024 Posts: 177 Rating: (2)	We are running WinCC v6.0 SP4 HMI connected to 15 S5-155U PLC's via S5 PMC Driver. We have10 Clients running and DataMonitor v6.1 running it's Server on one of the Clients. On all the mimics we have a script that copies an external tag to an internal tag for alarm display purposes. There are may of these scripts all over each mimic and are all trigger 'upon change' of the external tag. The mimics(about 100 mimics in total, about 50 tags/mimic) run well, with sub 1sec update times, so HMI is good and well. Our problem is this however:- When accessing the mimics on an office machine connected to the Webserver, we notice that sometimes the internal variable is not updating. Upon closer inspection it appears that if the mimic that is open via DataMonitor is not currently open on any Server or Client then the internal variable does not update. This indicates to us that only on the Server and Clients does the triggerred script run. I can't help thinking we are just missing something obvious and a solution is staring us in the face. Any thoughts?

I looked under the WinCC Information system and found options > WinCC Web Navigator > WinCC Web Navigator -Release Notes > Important Information > but nothing like..........Web Navigator Server Computer-local tags with...... I am running WInCC v6.0 SP4 and WinCC DataMonitor v6.1 SP1, could this be why that article is missing. Could you copy and paste the detail under that heading for me or perhaps point me to the correct location for this information. Regards Philip

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	This is the info they are trying to tell you to look at Web Navigator Server Computer-local tags with the dedicated Web Server The local tags of the underlying WinCC server on the web client cannot assume any values if a dedicated web server is used. Only the local tags of the dedicated web server can assume own values on the web client. _______________________________________________ What youalso need to keep in mind is there is only one internal tag for the web server. So if you change an internal tag value, it changes on all clients and server. Are you calling any project functions you created in this script? In that case you have to include them when you publish the web pages.
