DBD4998 ) .Coz it says the variabe (DB1.DBW5000)hasn"t occupied the memory location. but its not the case in V10.5. Thanks

If you do not set this property, you can access the word from a dword, as soon bits and bytes too.

Can we ignore the warning regarding memory occupation with symbolic access disabled ? thanks Hi, You are right. When you use symbolic access only, you can not see the absolut address of the tag. So, you can not access part of the tag directly. You can access indirectly, coping it to an absolut address varible and from that make the desired partial addressing. In your case DBD 4998 = bytes 4998,4999,5000 and 5001; DBW5000 = bytes 5000 and 5001, that is ok. Can you place a printscreen of the warning.

It basically says you are accessing memory directly rather than through a variable at that memory location. It is warning you that maybe you made a mistake. I do not like it, but understand it could be helpful if you typed in the address believing there should be a tag with that address.
