What is the application? i.e. do you want to measure speed or position? How much precision? 

In Sinamics DCM user can interface HTL, TTL  A/B R track incremental, unipolar/bipolar encoders via X177 terminal. For SSI type encoders SMC 30 is required.

How much precise do you want to measure?

RPM specififed are of motor shaft or output shaft?

Is any gearbox coupled between motor & load? If yes, how much is the ratio?

How many positions needs to be define/achieve? motor or output load shaft?

How much precision for positioning accuracy?

Do you want to measure position of motor rotor or output shaft?

What type of feedback device for speed feedback?
