Delays in scl TIAv12

Cime Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello, I am new to programming PLCs, using TIA v12 and programming with SCL. I have some problems with delays in my program. I use TON to make a delay. I have put TON function in a FC which is included in OB1-main. Then I just enable the timer IN, set the delay time and wait the Q(in my case is a flag) which is set after the time has elapsed. In my program I have to do: when the button is pressed, first turn on contactor2, after 2 seconds turn on contactor1 and after one second turn off contactor2. I think that this is not the best way to do this, because I have a lot of if...then statemants, and if I change someting in the program the delay functions don't work any more. Can anyone give me a hint how to do this or where to look? Thanks Regards

Hello, I can't figure out why you have problem with using TON in your SCL program.If you want the function re-usable , I suggest using a function block with multi-instance capability to use IEC timers inside.There is another method to implement so by using the clock of CPU.See here: help on SCL I hope you can tell us more about the CPU you are using plus shareing codes you have developed. Cime Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi Hamid, thanks for the quick reply. I am using CPU1212C AC/DC/RLY. Both of the attached files are called in OB1. As you can see in the file "timer.jpg" I have commented //Q=> and I am setting my flag "Data_control".timer_end := 1; in a function, where I look if the delay time has elapsed. If I don't do this the delay function doesn't work. thanks regards Hello, Things that I can share are: You can not write the output of a function or a function block in your codes.You only should read from status.You have option to write a parameter in "IN/OUT" but not permanently due to internal usage of the algorithm in the function. What you provide to the timer is only a trigger and preset time value.They can be written from logic or come from outside (HMI). The outputs should only read or compared. For action on 2 output devices, I am afraid you need 2 timers to run one after the other. Hope these comment help Hamid Hosseini
